Ratchet & Clank 2: Locked & Loaded Review

INTRODUCTION

Well, oh lookie here. A brand-new adventure, starring, RATCHET! If you've ever played this game, you would know that Ratchet and Clank is a great, blow-up-everything game. While the graphics are good and gameplay is great, there's two things I hate about this game: You can't use items whenever you want (like at any time get out the LEVITATOR and have fun), and you HAVE to do the missions to beat the game.

UPGRADING and MODS

As the players of this wonderful game know, the weapons can UPGRADE!!! That's right, your weapons actually absorb enemy nano-points to upgrade your weapons into powerful technology. Rumor has it that there's a shop where you can trade your acquired Platanium Bolts in for weapon modifications like acid, shock, and lock-on. These mods really help in Boss Battles. They do extra damage and my personal favorite is the shock mod.It even does damage to foes near the infected enemy, infecting them as well.

WEAPONS and GADGETS

Weapons are a commando's best friend. If you've ever played the first one, you already know that there's a lot of weapons to choose from. Ones like the LANCER, GRAVITY BOMB, CHOPPER, BLITZ GUN, MINITURRET GLOVE, PULSE RIFLE and THE SYNTHENOID. Gadgets include old favorites like the SWINGSHOT and the GRINDBOOTS. Or new ones like the GRAVITY BOOTS, HYPNOMATIC and DYNAMO.

SPACE BATTLES

In some cases, you will have to do space combat. This is when you get to shoot down 40-50 ships (in 2 waves). It's one of the most difficult things to accomplish in the game. There will be a new challenge every time you beat the one before it (this will happen about 3 times). Later on in the game (like on the 6th level) there will be a ship mod store to make the impossible... possible.

The 2 MOST POWERFUL WEAPONS

The 2 most powerful weapons in the game are the RYNO2 and the Zodiac. The RYNO2 launches fast and powerful rockets at the enemy until they die. The best thing that makes this weapon unstoppable is that it locks-on to the next enemy afte the 1st one is defeated. The Zodiac is expensive and I mean EXPENSIVE! The weapon itself costs 1,500,000 and the ammo costs 1,000 apiece. This is because once you fire it, all enemies (except bosses) in your sight are automatically defeated, leaving only ash behind.

THE ARENA and HOVERBIKE RACES

The arena rules! You can choose between the Mega Bosses, Endurance Rounds, Timed Challenges, and Cage Matches. Winners recieve new Gadgets and cash prizes! Now hoverbiking takes racing to a whole new level. Race for prizes just like in The Arena. You can even use weaponry like missles and a shock wave.
