Pokemon Fire Red ReviewForget grouching about so many of your pokemon not being in Ruby and Sapphire because this game of epic proportions has come straight from the gaming heaven to brighten your life.
After viewing the spectacular beginning of Gengar and Nidorino battling, you are started off in Pallet Town. Everything happens just as it did in the first game, from finding Zapdos in Power Plant to fighting your rival after beating the elite four. It's a classic that you can't forget.
It dosen't stop there, there are 9 new islands to explore, 2 of which hold Ho-oh, Lugia and Deoxys. You can catch Gold and Silver Pokemon as well. It even has the classic tunes that remind you of the good ol' Game Boy Color days.
Brilliant, newly updated graphics and cool new features like the Teachy TV and the union room will make sure that you aren't short new stuff to keep you entertained. It also links up with Pokemon Colosseum (GC) so you can unleash your pokemon in full 3D.
This is a game that can't be missed and anyone that dosen't have it should quit gaming, a masterpiece.
Graphics 87% 'Breathtaking'
Just as good as Ruby and Sapphire. The reflections are there, the footprints are there and the levels are as vibrant as ever.
Sound/Music 76% 'A bit old'
The music is good, and the classic pokemon cries will bring a tear to the eye. But there are only 4 battle songs, what's up with that.
Gameplay 93% 'As good as ever'
It's brilliant, as usual. Everything is there, loads of people to talk to, battle and of course hundreds of Pokemon to catch. The battle system is updated with the new moves as well!
Value 96% 'Practically everlasting'
You'll be playing this until the next game comes out and beyond. It's classic and you'll never get bored with it.
