Super Mario Sunshine ReviewSuper Mario 64 was a revolution in the way we looked at games. It was where 3D gaming took it's shape from, the analogue stick. It actually worked and has inspired loads of games. But people are bored playing in the blocky worlds of the N64 Classic... they want something fresh... and this is what they get...
This classic has well improved visuals and is based mainly on water. Most of the levels are covered in water, although varied in style at the same time. The water effects are brilliant, and put games with blue cardboard for water to shame. The characters are smooth and there are no rough edges.
All of Mario's moves are back, but there 2 special new ones. One, Mario's FLUDD device, what water spurting power machine that you'll spray, hover and rocket with. When you jump into a body of water, it automatically refills so you won't be needing to go searching desperatly for 'magical refill items' Also, this game marks the return of Yoshi who can ride and spurt juice out... super!
There are 120 Shine Sprites to collect, that you have to use to brighten up Isle Delfino because of a Mario Immitator that's dirtying the Island. You'll spurt, squirt and smash your way through this fantastic game!
Graphics 93% 'Fully watered'
The levels look great and the characters are smooth. But the water effects make it's N64 brother look like crap (which it's not).
Sound/Music 96% 'Classico'
The Isle Delfino music is very... Italian. But the other levels feature brilliant songs that you'll remember for ages.
Gameplay 95% 'Still brilliant'
The gameplay isn't a revolution as it was before. But it offers a varied array of challenges. Secret levels, bosses, Yoshi challenges and loads more. It's never tiresome...
Value 97% 'Never gets old'
You'll play this again and again, plus it'll take you ages to collect all the Shine Sprites.
