More DS on their way to North America

As a result of consumer demand, Nintendo will be shipping 40% more DS portable games consoles to North America than previously planned in the run up to Christmas, bringing the total amount to around 1.4 million.

What does this mean for gamers in Europe? Probably that the pan-European release date will be later than it otherwise would have, as all the stock planned for European distribution are now on their way to America. However, with the dollar weak against the Pound and the Euro, and no difference between the US and European versions, many Nintendo enthusiasts may choose to import their DS's rather than wait for the official European release.
