Electronic Arts Announces Partnership With Square Enix Europe To Publish Final Fantasy X-2World's Most Successful Role-Playing Game ReturnsChertsey, UK - September 22, 2004 - Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS), the world's leading interactive entertainment software company, today announced that its EA Partners division has signed an exclusive distribution and publishing agreement with Square Enix Co., Ltd for FINAL FANTASY® X-2 on the PlayStation ® 2 computer entertainment system throughout Europe and all PAL territories. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
FINAL FANTASY is the most successful role-playing game of all time, selling over 44 million units during the lifetime of the franchise. FINAL FANTASY X-2, scheduled for release in Europe in early 2004, is a sequel that brings back the cast and world of FINAL FANTASY X for another epic adventure. FFX-2 was released in Japan on 13 March 2003 and has already sold over 2 million units to consumers.
