At the character selection screen, hold R and press the following combination of buttons on control pad 2: Left, Down, Right, X, Y, A, B, Left, Down, Right, Down, X, Y, A, B.

Endurance Mode
At the character selection screen, hold R and press the following combination of buttons on control pad 2: A, Left, Y, Right, X, Down, B, Up.
