Complete the game with Lui Bei and Cao Cao. Then, select 'New Game' and you will have the ability to choose which side to be played.

Battle of Chang Zheng and Battle of East Lau
Select either Liu Bei or Cao Cao, and complete the game using the 'expert' difficulty setting to unlock a hidden battle for each side. For Liu Bei, the hidden battle is called 'The Battle of East Lau', and for Cao Cao, the hidden battle is called 'The Battle of Chang Zheng'.
